About Me
I am M. Saad Bin Arif, an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), India. I hold a PhD in Power Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), along with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering and Power Systems and Drives from Aligarh Muslim University.
My academic and research interests include power electronics, multilevel inverter (MLI) topologies, solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, PV array reconfiguration under partial shading, and hybrid renewable energy systems. I currently serve as Principal Investigator of a government-funded research project focused on improving solar PV power generation using a novel one-time reconfiguration technique and also contribute to nationally funded science and technology infrastructure initiatives.
I have published over 80 research articles in SCI and Scopus-indexed international journals and conferences, and hold granted patents in India and the United Kingdom. This work has received international citations and recognition at academic conferences. Active involvement includes teaching and supervision of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral research in electrical engineering and renewable energy systems. Editorial and peer-review responsibilities are undertaken for international journals, and professional engagement is maintained as a Senior Member of IEEE. I place strong importance on academic supervision and participate in professional activities that encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing within the research community.
In 2025, steady progress continued in power electronics and renewable energy research, while 2026 remains a year in progress with much to learn and much to do.
